Job Summary:
Common: Leads and/or directs, recommends, designs, troubleshoots, and maintains Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to support the business operations of the institution. Leads or directs system analysis, strategy development, and provides training and technical guidance to less experienced staff to support ERP systems. Resolves the most complex problems independently or by guiding team members. Acts as principal contact or lead for development of technical solutions within application and database management infrastructure. Leads analysis and stakeholder engagement for new and ongoing functionality. May supervise, coordinate workload, or mentor other staff.
Unique: The Workday Enterprise Solutions Team (WEST) is responsible for the administration and optimization of Workday and related systems (including, but not limited to, Adaptive, Jaggaer / ShopUW+, RAMP) for Finance, Human Resources, and Research Administration across the Universities of Wisconsin System, while focusing on people, processes, and technology. This team will concentrate on continuous improvement and system maintenance, release enhancements, support, and strategic integration of the Workday ERP and related systems to achieve business objectives.
This position is responsible for leading a team that configures processes, security, reports and other system functionality as well as troubleshoots and responds to issues reported by customers for cross-business functionality and processes. In addition to supporting our ongoing operational state, this individual will also participate in efforts to enhance and expand the functionality and user experience with a focus on continuous improvement. This person will also serve as a lead for lower-level IT staff providing guidance on specific project goals, outcomes, and technological components as well as developing and identifying opportunities for new staff training opportunities.
This individual intentionally collaborates with peers across WEST to form a cohesive and well-functioning leadership team. Schedule will be determined with the selected finalist upon hire.
Primary schedule will be during business hours on Monday through Friday, beginning no later than 9:00AM CST and ending no earlier than 3:00PM CST, with an on-call or weekend rotation as required by the department.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Assists in serving as the liaison representing interests to internal and external stakeholders
- Troubleshoots hardware, software, and system problems that involve ERP system-wide functionality
- Creates and updates access permissions and maintains user accounts to maintain ERP systems security through user profile management
- Designs, configures, monitors, and maintains performance metrics for system features and recommends and takes corrective/preventive actions
- Assists management team by advising on enterprise information technology operations and business models
- Recommends and participates in the implementation of ERP system enhancements or changes that may involve custom design, optional, and third-party products
- Participates in the design, development, and implementation of test and production objects. Defines user requirements and performs configuration, change management, and testing activities
- Plans, coordinates, and implements system-wide updates, upgrades, and patches for ERP systems

$118,010 - $140,150
Required Qualifications:
• 3+ years of experience administering, configuring, or advanced functional use in Workday. Strong technical skills in configuration, integration and reporting.
• 3+ years of experience with workflow-driven processes.
• 3+ years of experience providing customer service in some capacity.
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose and solve complex issues within ERP systems.
• High level of comfort working with, and adjusting to changes in, different software solutions while managing competing priorities
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers, customers and stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to document business requirements, functional specifications, and user materials
Preferred Qualifications:
• Ability to prioritize work across team members to ensure deadlines are met and production issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with peers, customers and stakeholders
• Ability to effectively collaborate and coordinate in a remote work environment
