Job Summary:

The WIDA Director of Professional Learning (PL) Operations position is located within the Educator Learning, Research, and Practice (ELRP) department and will report to the Chief Educator Learning Officer (CELO). This position will be responsible for the operational strategy and portfolio management for ELRP's suite of professional learning offerings. The Director of PL Operations will oversee the department's strategic planning and development processes and partner with key internal and external stakeholders to effectively maintain WIDA's professional learning portfolio. This role will also make strategic decisions to drive process efficiencies, updates to pricing and packaging models, and eLearning innovation.

Working fully remote is an option for this position within the United States (working remotely internationally is not an option). Responsibilities:

Works with senior management to establish a portfolio that increases business value, builds synergies among projects, makes the best use of limited resources, and aligns projects with the defined strategic direction and goals. Identifies and manages risks, monitors and controls portfolio budgets, effectively manages relationships, and establishes project reporting requirements.
  • 30% Monitors lifecycles for a varied portfolio of projects, tracks progress, identifies risks, recommends improvements, and collaborates to implement changes
  • 30% Assists in the development of strategic planning initiatives and unit objectives to ensure appropriate use of financial, administrative, and staffing resources, in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 15% Manages and evaluates portfolio budget and objectives in collaboration with key stakeholders and leadership
  • 10% Prepares and disseminates portfolio reports according to established policies and procedures
  • 5% Develops, implements, and directs operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives and facilitates project requests
  • 10% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

Required
* Minimum 5 years of experience leading operational strategy within an organization.
* Experience in the development of organizational systems, ongoing strategic planning, administration, and management of simultaneous projects and deadlines.
* Superior writing, communication, and organizational skills.
* Proficiency in using digital tools for coordinating workflow and documenting plans and outcomes.
* Experience managing and reporting on an established budget, as well as maintaining strategic contractor and vendor relationships.
* Experience supervising and coaching a team (manager or director-level preferred).

Preferred
*Familiarity with the WIDA ELP Assessment system, which includes ELP standards, assessments, and professional learning.
*Demonstrated knowledge of the K-12 educational landscape and experience working with states and/or schools and districts.
*Product and/or Project Management certification or equivalent experience.

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Minimum $96,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
