Job Summary:

The WIDA Data Warehouse Analyst position is located within the Assessment department and will report to the Data Warehouse Manager. This position will work with researchers and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and use SQL Server to create and maintain processes and queries to meet these requirements. This position will also be responsible for loading data from outside vendors, ensuring data quality, and maintaining appropriate access. The candidate should have extensive experience and familiarity with SQL or comparable database/data warehouse applications and experience with some type of data analytic software, e.g., SAS or R.

Working fully remote is an option for this position within the United States (working remotely internationally is not an option). Responsibilities:

Assists the IT team in the design, development, build, and maintenance of database systems and environments to ensure data security and integrity. Helps develop related policy, procedures, and training.
  • 10% Assists in the development of data architectures and database management policies and standards
  • 5% Assists in the identification and resolution of data issues and upholds database-use guidelines
  • 5% Assists in the installation, configuration, maintenance, backup, restoration, and performance-tuning of databases
  • 10% Implements routine security measures to safeguard digital information
  • 30% Monitors and analyzes database audit tables and logs and provides routine data warehousing support and data extraction
  • 20% Assists in identifying, developing, and facilitating unit staff training opportunities in the effective utilization of databases
  • 5% Work with developers to develop and maintain data visualization tools
  • 15% Use data from assessment vendors to validate vendor assessment setup, administration, and scoring procedures

Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

Required
* Experience writing, testing, debugging, and tuning complex SQL queries.
* Proficient in SQL Database design, including normalization and change management.
* Familiar with reporting tools such as Excel, SSRS, PowerBI, or others.
* Ability to work with users of varying skill sets and areas of focus.
*Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with remote teams.

Preferred
* Proficient in advanced SQL functionality such as stored procedures, error handling, and transactions.
* Familiar with statistical or software packages and programming languages such as: SAS, R, SPSS, Excel, etc.

It is anticipated this position will be remote and requires work be performed at an offsite, non-campus work location.
