Job Summary:
As part of UW-Madison Division of Extension Waushara County, this position provides clerical, secretarial, and customer/client support for the department. This position supports Extension Educators and works under the direct supervision of the Area Extension Director. Additionally, this position provides support to educational program delivery for educators affiliated with Waushara County Extension, including the 4-H Program, community development, regional agriculture--livestock, and regional agriculture--crops.
This position serves as the first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, including website maintenance. This position will order supplies; process invoices, payment of vouchers, bills; and verify all accounting records in accordance with county and state policies and procedures. Collaboration with local colleagues to promote a positive office environment and share resources is a must!
County Location
The main office for this position is located in Wautoma, WI and the primary programming focus is Waushara County.
In Person
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
- Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
- Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
Submits invoices and tracks other budgetary items via county systems
- Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
- Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

Compensation:
The minimum annual (12 months) starting hourly rate for the position is $18.36/hour but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications
This is an 80% FTE, part-time position. The person hired can expect to work 32 hours per week.

Required Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Effective word processing, computer technology, data base/file management, accounting/bookkeeping and web publishing skills.
- At least two years of experience working with Microsoft Office suite and Google suite.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to effectively meet with and support public audiences/customers.
- Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of increasingly responsible office and/or related experience in an educational related field
- At least 2 years of experience with Extension programming and audiences including 4-H, community development, and agriculture in Waushara County.
