Job Summary:

The instructor selected for this position will join the Department of Marketing at the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB). We seek candidates with the ability to educate high-achieving students enrolled in Marketing courses. Lecturers may teach during fall, spring and/or summer session undergraduate and/or graduate courses.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong expertise in Marketing concepts developed through industry or research experience. Highly qualified candidates will have experience in training or delivery of Marketing concepts either internal or external to their organization.

Experience working with Learning management systems, such as Canvas or blackboard.
Experience working with and serving diverse learners is also preferred.

The Marketing department is rated among the top programs in the country for research productivity.

The Wisconsin School of Business offers degrees in Marketing at the undergraduate, master's, and PhD level. The school currently enrolls approximately 3,700 undergraduates, 800 masters, and 80 Doctoral students.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time faculty position in Marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The topics will likely include:

- Marketing Research
- Marketing Strategy
- Consulting Practicums

Please note, classes are taught in both the Graduate and Undergraduate program and subjects may vary based on the needs of the department. A 100% FTE represents 18 credits annually, Aug-May.

Responsibilities:

Facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction and assists with instructional development and design for a single course or series of courses within an academic discipline to support the delivery of quality instruction. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom, online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.
  • 40% Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses, including assessment of student performance
  • 35% Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
  • 5% Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
  • 15% Develop Online Asynchronous Classes for the Online Degree Programs at the undergraduate and graduate level
  • 5% Participate (and/or present) at student events; provide career guidance; serve as faculty advisor for a student org; serve on committees at the department, school, or campus level; and take part in corporate engagement

Education:

Required
Master's Degree preferably in Marketing or related field

Qualifications:

Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Marketing or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience

Preferred:
- 6 years or more of teaching experience
- Experience in both face-to-face and online learning

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 9 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Negotiable
