Job Summary:
The Cryns and Anderson labs are recruiting a Scientist to join their team to focus on multiple federally funded projects (NIH and Department of Defense) that examine the role of phosphoinositide signaling and methionine metabolism in cancer. This individual will lead and conduct mouse models of breast cancer (patient-derived xenograft, xenograft and syngeneic) to examine how phosphoinositides and methionine regulate tumor growth and metastasis. As such, experience with cancer mouse models is essential. Specific responsibilities include tumor inoculation, drug delivery (oral and intraperitoneal), tumor imaging, necropsy and molecular analyses of tumors (e.g., immunoblotting, immunohistochemistry and proximity ligation assays). This Scientist will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of translational cancer researchers that includes undergraduate and graduate students, postdocs and other Scientists.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Collects and analyzes research data, conducts experiments and interviews, and documents results according to established policies and procedures under general supervision and limited responsibility
- Writes or assists in developing grant applications and proposals to secure research funding
- Conducts literature reviews, prepares reports and materials, and disseminates information to appropriate entities
- Serves as a main point of contact and liaison with internal and external stakeholders providing information and representing the interests of a specialized research area
- Assists with the identification of research problems and the development of research methodologies and procedures
- Attends and assists with the facilitation of scholarly events and presentations in support of continued professional development and the dissemination of research information

Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $73,795 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
Experience with animal models of cancer
Experience of molecular and cellular biology
Experience with cell biology and biochemical approaches
Experience with statistical analysis of research data
Education:
PhD in Genetics, Cancer Biology, Molecular and Cellular Biology, or closely related field is required by the start date of the position.
