Job Summary:
The Suzuki Lab is part of McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, in the Oncology Department of the School of Medicine and Public Health, at the University of Wisconsin Madison. The Suzuki lab is seeking a dedicated Research Technician to assist with laboratory maintenance, administrative tasks, and provide support for ongoing research projects. Our lab is dedicated to unraveling the mechanisms underlying chromosomal instability in cancer, exploring the functional dynamics of HIV-1 viral proteins, and investigating the life cycle of Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV). Additionally, we are pioneering technological advancements in cell biology, particularly in optical imaging. Our most recent publications are available on PubMed.
Responsibilities:
Conducts research experiments with limited supervision. Provides technical support with some degree of independence for research projects and/or labs under moderate supervision.
- 10% Prepares lab and/or field test materials and samples according to established research requirements and specifications. Performs lab or field tests.
- 10% Inspects and maintains equipment, supplies, inventory, and facility spaces
- 65% Collects data and monitors test results according to established research requirements and specifications
- 5% May assist with literature reviews and/or report writing
- 10% Reviews data to summarize results for presentations or reporting

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in biology, genetics, biophysics, engineering, or related field.

Work Schedule:
This position will be expected to work 40 hours per week with standard hours of 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Weekend hours may be required depending on experiment and equipment schedule.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
