Job Summary:
Biomedical Research Model Services (BRMS) is seeking a Research Program Coordinator to join our team. Our animal program involves all aspects of animal use for research, teaching, and outreach. This position serves as the primary subject matter expert for the operational implementation and management of an animal research digital platform. Responsibilities include workflow development, user training, operational support, process improvement, ongoing system maintenance, and coordination across multiple research facilities. The role will work collaboratively with SMPH IT to provide technical support and ensure effective system performance as needed.
While the initial focus will be on platform implementation and deployment, the position will also maintain ongoing responsibility for user support, training, system administration, and program-wide operational coordination. The incumbent will play a key role in driving adoption, optimizing workflows, ensuring data integrity, and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the animal research program.
- This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Plans, develops, and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
- Serves as primary operational liaison with SMPH IT
- Monitors program budget(s) and approves unit expenditures
- Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program
- Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program(s)
- Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
- Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program developments and information

Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $70,000 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications

Required Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating operations, programs, or projects in a research, laboratory, healthcare, or other regulated environment.
- Experience using business or operational software systems.
- Experience developing procedures, documentation, or training materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with laboratory animal research operations, vivarium management, or a regulated research environment.
- Experience with research billing, per diem/census management, or cost-recovery processes.
- Experience supporting regulatory or accreditation requirements, such as IACUC or AAALAC.
- Experience using or managing facility, laboratory information, or animal management software.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; focus in systems administration or related field preferred
