Job Summary:

University Health Services (UHS) is seeking dedicated nursing professionals to join our Primary Care team. This Registered Nurse position provides direct patient care, telephone triage, and patient education to the students of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. RNs collaborate with different members of the interdisciplinary team to develop treatment plans, complete assessments, delegate, and provide necessary patient care. This position offers an opportunity for remote work after successful onboarding.

Responsibilities:

Provides professional nursing care to patients through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation to ensure physical and mental well-being.
  • 75% Provides care to individuals within a specialized area of medicine to ensure physical and mental well-being
  • 10% Evaluates current care plans, completes assessments, develops specialized treatment plans, documents medical activity, and analyzes patient data and results to help diagnosis and treat illnesses and diseases
  • 10% Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
  • 5% Participates in medical research as needed in collaboration with medical professionals and internal and external stakeholders

Education:

Required
Associate's Degree in Nursing

Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Qualifications:

Required
--Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or RN license issued by Compact State
--Current CPR/BLS certification
--National Provider Identifier (NPI) eligibility

Preferred
--3 years experience as a registered nurse in an ambulatory clinic setting
--Experience working under nurse protocols and patient education
--Technical skills such as: injections, IV, triage, and wound care
--English proficiency

License/Certification:

Required
RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $72,800 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
This is an annualized rate, with the hourly starting rate $35/hr.
