Job Summary:

This Regional Outreach and Engagement Specialist will be a member of the Opioid Response Network (ORN). 

The work location will be in HHS Region 5 (IN, IL, MI, MN, OH, WI). Preferred that applicant be located in IN, IL, MI, MN, OH, or WI, but not required.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
  • Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan
  • Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
  • Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives

At the Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies (CHESS), we are committed to turning research findings into solutions that benefit individuals,  families, and communities. Our efforts ranges from improving quality of life for older adults to supporting behavioral health professionals working in addiction and mental health prevention, treatment, and recovery services.

CHESS uses technology to enhance the healthcare journey for patients and their families. Whether we’re offering support during treatment, facilitating communication with professionals, or providing tools for coping and resilience, our innovative approaches empower individuals in their health journeys.

Compensation:

The typical starting​ salary for this position will $70,000 for experienced candidates. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurance and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.

Required Qualifications:

At least 2 years of program administration or program coordination and technical assistance systems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with substance use and mental health state and community agencies from a wide variety of disciplines

  • Experience in event planning, community outreach, and/or marketing

  • Knowledge of and/or experience working in the field of substance use disorder prevention, treatment, or recovery support

  • Excellent attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions and problem solve

  • Ability to work as part of a team, set goals and work independently to manage both short- and long-term responsibilities

  • Extensive virtual/remote work is involved

Education:

Bachelor's degree
