Job Summary:
This Project Consolidation Specialist will assist Collection Maintenance staff as they consolidate campus library locations and transfer materials to other collections. This process includes physical relocation of items as well as cataloging and data maintenance.

The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties, including, but not limited to:
- Physically relocating materials across campus for Consolidation projects.
- Correct bibliographic and item records following MARC and campus guidelines.
- Provide library services support for other shelving and storage work across campus.
- Work closely with campus collection and cataloging staff relating to shelving and storage issues.
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
This position is full-time, 100%.
Terminal, 18 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes library software and systems to retrieve, enter, and report on data using a wide variety of applications
- Conducts reference searches to locate relevant materials and answer questions as needed
- Contributes to the development of policies and procedures
- Provides complex support to the day-to-day operations of library services to provide guidance in the use of library information resources, operations, and policies; or to acquire, prepare, and preserve library information resources for use
- Participates in committee work within the library and the university
- May assist and educate both face-to-face and remote customers in the use of technologies and tools to create, seek, use, and manage information
- Interprets policies and procedures to answer non-routine questions and resolve complex issues
- Utilizes designated library systems, tools, standards, and practices to locate, retrieve, and organize; or describe, edit, preserve, and reformat a variety of library information resources
- Provides complex library services support in absence of a supervisory authority. Acts as a resource to other library staff
- May create invoices, process complex orders, and resolve any purchasing discrepancies
- Hires, trains, and guides student employees and monitors student workflows

Compensation:
Starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications. Well-qualified applicants can anticipate earning between $38,198 - $45,000 with final salary based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
- Excellent problem analysis and oral & written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic computer skills, including knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets
- Ability to organize workload effectively, work independently and as a team
- Physical demands: Ability to life 50 lbs, lift materials overhead, and work on feet over 6 hours a day
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic cataloging principles, including bibliographic information and the use of OCLC and MARC Records
- Flexible, detail orientated, and able to respond well to multiple competing demands
Education:
High School Diploma Preferred
