Job Summary:

Join a high-functioning team of award-winning multimedia producers and play a key role in the success of our broadcast and digital work! PBS Wisconsin produces a wide variety of engaging programs for distribution over multiple platforms including broadcast television, radio and digital. The Production Coordinator provides valuable support in a number of areas, collaborating with content producers to manage production logistics and schedules for a variety of projects, as well as content research and media production work. 


The Project Coordinator uses project management tools like Airtable to manage and coordinate video and audio production information, including  credits and rights information, motion graphic and design elements, digital and marketing needs, as well as critical operations and QC processes. Also manages video drone flight requests and approval processes for PBS Wisconsin. Works as a liaison between internal departments to facilitate logistics related to media production. Strong communications skills, excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks on deadline are required. This position will be based in Madison, WI and reports to the Executive Producer in PBS Wisconsin’s Production Administration Unit. 


This is a full time, 40-hour-a-week position.

This is a full-time position that works core business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as needed, with ability to travel – with occasional overnights – for work.  


This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 1 day per week in person on the University of Wisconsin Madison campus in Madison, WI and will require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location. During the initial training period, on-site work is required. The final schedule can be discussed at the offer stage, but fully remote candidates will not be accepted.


Remote work requires an approved flexible work arrangement (FWA). A FWA requires successful candidates to possess their own high-speed internet and phone to perform the work on a university provided computer. Per University policy, transportation between home and assigned work location is not payable/reimbursable and will be at the expense of the employee.


Travel is required. Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares reports and financial statements for leadership or external agencies
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units for production, meetings, conferences, and travel
  • Serves as the operational liaison to internal departments and external resources and facilities
  • Coordinates aspects of the production process from creation through delivery, including creative, financial, technological, and administrative components
  • Assists with production research and assets attainment, and provides other production support
  • Develops and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic and/or physical records related to work operations according to established editorial policies, procedures, and industry standards

Compensation:

Expected pay for this position ranges from $26.44 to $31.25 per hour with actual pay dependent on experience and qualifications. Wisconsin Public Media offers a comprehensive benefits package, including generous vacation, sick leave, healthcare and pension.

Required Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of media production coordination experience. This includes a demonstrated knowledge of media production processes, workflows and technical needs.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills, including experience with in-person and remote collaborative team settings.
  • Valid Driver’s License that meets UW Risk Management Standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Airtable, MediaPulse and Google Drive to manage projects (or similar project management/scheduling tools).
  • Familiarity with digital asset management
  • Experience coordinating vendor contracts and license agreements
  • Experience producing video content for digital and/or broadcast distribution

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Media Production, Communications, Journalism or related fields preferred.
