Job Summary:

This position will serve as an Outreach Specialist for the Wisconsin Cancer Collaborative (WCC) at the UW Carbone Cancer Center. The WCC is the state's comprehensive cancer control program and statewide coalition of organizations working together to reduce the burden of cancer for everyone in Wisconsin. The WCC brings together statewide partners that address the whole continuum of cancer control in Wisconsin including prevention, screening, treatment, survivorship and palliative care and priority cross-cutting issues, including health disparities and policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) changes.

Working in this team of dynamic and committed colleagues, this position will support the implementation of outreach programs and PSE changes, which will include strengthening partnerships, especially with healthcare systems and community clinics.

Responsibilities:

Delivers and assists with planning outreach program activities, strengthens partnerships, ensures adherence to policy, and assists with program administration to promote stable and productive relationships between the university and local community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences. May assist with tracking and managing the outreach program budget.
  • 20% Identifies, promotes, and maintains external partnerships to support the outreach program
  • 15% Schedules and secures resources and communicates logistics in support of an outreach program
  • 30% Delivers outreach program content and materials to community members
  • 15% Researches, develops, and facilitates outreach program content and materials
  • 15% Develops and evaluates curriculum and programs and provides recommendations for improvement
  • 5% May assist with the monitoring of outreach program budget spending

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Degree in health education, public health, or related field preferred.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in community outreach, health education/promotion, or public health is required. Equivalent experience in undergrad/graduate school will be considered.

- Ability to communicate and establish relationships with diverse audiences is required.

- Knowledge of common Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Power Point) is essential.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in community outreach, health education/promotion, or public health is preferred. Equivalent experience in undergrad/graduate school will be considered.

- Experience with implementation of cancer control prevention and screening programs is preferred.

License/Certification:

Required
Drivers License - Valid and Meets UW Risk Management Standards

Full or Part Time: 80% - 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Salary:

Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.
