Job Summary:

The Hancock Agricultural Research Station is a 412-acre vegetable research farm located in the Central Sands area of Wisconsin. Field trials at the station are related to potatoes, field corn, sweet corn, soybeans, snap beans, carrots and cucumbers. The station is also home to the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Storage Research Facility.

This position serves as the point person for the office at the Hancock Agricultural Research Station. They will direct inquiries to appropriate staff or answer basic questions related to the educational opportunities that are offered by the Hancock Agricultural Research Station. Duties include, but are not limited to, the processing of invoices, handling bills and verification of all accounting records in accordance with university policies and practices. Reviews invoices from vendors and contract service providers and submits to department head for approval of payment. Helps maintain the station website and social media presence in coordination with the Station Superintendent. Assists in organization, promotion and preparation for outreach activities sponsored by the Ag Research Station.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
  • Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
  • Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
  • Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $21.00 - $25.50. However, final salary will depend on experience and qualifications. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays, and paid time off; competitive insurances and savings accounts; retirement benefits. Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Workday, or similar platforms as a part of regular position responsibilities.

  • Experience using spreadsheet and word processing tools to maintain data, generate reports/other correspondence (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word).

  • Experience applying organizational skills, including document filing and record-keeping.

  • Demonstrated experience providing customer-facing and non-facing service.

  • Experience managing logistics for a team/project, such as conference room coordination, event logistics, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using an online Content Management System (CMS) for website content updates.

  • Experience utilizing social media platforms for professional publicity and engagement.

  • Experience working/training in an agricultural setting.

Education:

High School Diploma Preferred
