In this role, you will work closely with nursing students in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and will be assigned to teach didactic and experiential (clinical) courses in acute care and may provide instruction in simulated care environments. Depending on expertise, qualifications, and program needs, it is also possible to be assigned to teach in undergraduate or PhD programs.

Employment in this position is contingent upon the successful candidates’ ability to provide satisfactory documentation for various medical clearances and certifications, as required by the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing and/or its affiliated clinical partners. Examples of required medical clearances and certifications include, but are not limited to: RN license, negative TB status, COVID vaccination, MMR, varicella, hepatitis B, and others.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Job Responsibilities:
Teach in DNP programs and baccalaureate (accelerated, traditional, and AD to BSN completion) or PhD programs based on school/program needs.
Teach using accepted course descriptions, course objectives, and content delivery approaches including assuring students meet expectations for required clinical hours if assigned to teach clinical courses.
Teach using strategies to include active learning, simulated experiential learning, and clinical experiential learning in hospitals or other health care settings as required by course assignments.
Collaborate with other faculty on curriculum and course planning at the graduate and undergraduate levels, using concept-based and competency-based teaching and learning assessment strategies.
Engage in other activities appropriate to a member of the School of Nursing academic community such as attending School meetings, participating in faculty development activities, and contributing to meeting the mission and vision of the School.
Contribute to the School of Nursing mission through service activities (e.g., governance committees, outreach activities, or project task groups).
Pursue areas of scholarly interest (e.g., evaluation studies to improve teaching and learning).
Collaborate with colleagues in practice settings through academic-practice partnerships to contribute to student learning, practice improvement, or community outreach.
Work to support and enhance the climate of excellence.
Compensation:
The minimum starting salary for this position is $90,500. Actual salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications. This is a C-basis (9-month) position. This is a part-time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status). At 60% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 60% of the advertised salary.

Required Qualifications:
One or more years of experience in teaching at undergraduate or graduate levels in nursing, or in professional staff development in acute care settings; and
One or more years of professional experience and certification as a DNP-Acute Care Advanced Practice Nurse and licensure in Wisconsin (or eligibility) as an Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong interest in and commitment to the teaching mission of the School of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with clinical instruction, active learning, competency or concept-based teaching, simulation, and inter-professional education is preferred.
