Job Summary:
Under the supervision of a Mental Health Leadership Team Member, the Mental Health Provider, Multilingual will provide mental health services in an integrated health care agency serving UW-Madison students across identities and programs. To this end, the Mental Health Provider performs the following:
Principal Duties:
1) Provides individual and group therapy services
2) Participates in the provision of clinical crisis services and on-call mental health services (during business hours);
3) Provides campus-based services/outreach including programming and consultation;
4) Responds to campus crises;
5) Engages in caseload management consistent with short-term counseling to balance new and ongoing client needs;
6) Effectively provides clinical services aligned with best practices and ethical standards for individuals from diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences;
Additional options for Direct Clinical Services may include:
1) Provides behavioral health interventions within Medical Services;
2) Provides couple/partner therapy services;
3) Provides supervision of assigned trainees including goal setting, evaluations, and disciplinary action in accordance with training policy and procedures;
4) Administers and interprets limited assessment measures.
Administrative Duties:
1) Maintains accurate and timely documentation for all clinical interactions and consultations;
2) Involved in the development and implementation of programs and services at MHS;
3) Contributes to formal and informal consultation with UHS colleagues and campus partners, including regular attendance of peer consult space
4) Collaborates with providers and staff in UHS units and with campus partners;
5) Follows agency policies and procedures consistent with state mental health statutes, ethical guidelines, best practices, HIPAA, and FERPA;
6) Attends staff, and workgroup meetings as assigned;
7) Attends Mental Health sponsored professional development activities;
8) Engages in service through campus or community involvement based on organizational need, e.g. committee involvement, training/mentoring, delivering presentations, critical incident response;
9) Other duties as assigned
There are licensure requirements for this role. Licensure, independent or in-training, will be confirmed to advance to the interview stage. The Wisconsin Board recognizes reciprocity for providers licensed or credentialed in another state. Each applicant is reviewed on an individual basis and generally accept candidates from states with substantially equivalent licensing standards. Other state/territory licenses must remain active until the Wisconsin credentialing process is complete.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provides individual and group counseling to students struggling with developmental and/or personal mental health issues and refers students to appropriate community resources
- Prepares presentations and outreach activities and facilitates student adjustment and success programs to promote a healthy campus
- Facilitates psycho-educational and process-oriented groups
- Provides counseling and/or information and referral services to faculty and staff
- Serves on multidisciplinary campus committees

Required Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience in a mental health setting is required by the start date of this position
Must be a licensed mental health provider in the State of Wisconsin. OR, if hold in training licensure, must have completed 1000 qualifying hours, must complete hours requirements within one (1) year of hire in the State of Wisconsin, and must complete all licensure requirements for independent practice in the State of Wisconsin within fifteen (15) months of her, with verification of all licensure materials to DSPS.
Mater’s degree in counseling or related mental health field
Preferred Qualifications:
Spanish fluency
Minimum (one) 1 year experience with providing therapy in Spanish. Experience may be through graduate level education.
- Experience providing individual and group counseling;
Experience in brief intervention and mental health crisis assessment;
Experience in consultation and collaboration with campus or community partners and provision of clinical outreach;
Experience using electronic health record systems;
Demonstrated attentiveness to intersectionality & health disparities;
Experience participating in multidisciplinary teams
Education:
Required: Master's Degree in counseling or related mental health field
