Job Summary:
The Graduate Program Manager for Molecular and Environmental Toxicology is responsible for the programmatic and administrative functions of the MET graduate program. This includes assisting the MET Director and MET faculty trainers, recruiting trainees, administering the M.S. and Ph.D. programs, and overseeing the summer undergraduate research program. The MET Graduate Program Manager is also responsible for managing an NIH T32 training grant, which supports graduate and postdoctoral trainees. The Graduate Program Manager plays a key part in promoting success among MET students, including performing student services such as advising.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Manages graduate student funding including, but not limited to, fellowships, scholarships, training grants, or assistantships from department, university, and/or outside sponsors. May prepare and/or submit funding proposals
Prepares, monitors, and reconciles fiscal matters, including budgets, procurements, cost transfers, etc.
- Maintains compliance with graduate program(s), school/college, and university requirements and technology systems related to admissions, assessment, academic degree progress/requirements, and program review. Makes policy and procedure recommendations and/or changes
- Oversees staff and/or graduate program functions
Develops and manages aspects of MET curricular responsibilities, including organization of syllabi, SIS maintenance, and creation of courses
- Serves as the expert resource for applicants, current students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders of an academic program
- Manages the response, support, and advocacy for graduate students while continuously improving the student experience and overall graduate program
- Oversees programming, services, and events to promote professional development and academic success
- Provides comprehensive advising services promoting graduate student success, retention, and degree completion. Advises on programs, graduate education, and university policies, processes, and procedures. Monitors degree progress and assists students in navigating resources and systems throughout the student lifecycle from matriculation to degree completion

The Molecular and Environmental Toxicology (MET) Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison comprises over 60 faculty trainers and approximately 30 students in certificate, Master's (MS) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) Degree tracks. We also support a community of undergraduate researchers and postdoctoral scholars in cooperation with the School of Medicine and Public Health. The goals are to provide training in toxicology, responsible conduct in research and professional skills.
Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $65,000 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
