Job Summary:
The Wisconsin Union is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for our facilities team at Union South, the south campus living room destination for students, guests, and community members. Union South includes a 350‑seat movie theater, a recreation center with bowling and billiards, a two‑story climbing wall, a 60‑room hotel, an art gallery, multiple dining venues, a pub, and a wide range of meeting spaces.
In this role, you’ll work alongside skilled technicians, mechanics, and trades staff to keep this vibrant venue visitor‑ready and operating smoothly. Daily tasks can include anything from clearing clogged sinks and repairing kitchen equipment to installing flower beds, patching drywall, or troubleshooting mechanical issues.
The ideal candidate brings well‑rounded building maintenance experience, strong problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
- Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed
- Receives, inspects, inventories, and distributes deliveries independently to appropriate entities
- Works special events as required for operational needs
- Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures
- Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness
