Job Summary:
3rd shift Temporary Custodian position is a team members of the Wisconsin Union -Facilities Custodian Team. Duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, upkeep of the Memorial Union Terrace and other duties as needed. Work is both indoors and outdoors. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.
Position works at Union South (1308 West Dayton Street, Madison) with possible work at UW Madison- Memorial Union. (800 Langdon Street, Madison)
-Schedule is:
40 hours per week
Open positions schedule: Union South building hours are 10pm to 6:30am with rotating days off. Memorial Union hours are 10:00pm-6:30am, days worked Tuesday though Saturday
This position is a temporary position work hours of open position for up to 6 months or less when the position is filled.
**Days and times may change based on department needs.
**Applicants may be used for other temporary Custodian positions that may open.
Wage is $17.00 per hour
+Differential Weekend pay for work performed on Saturday and Sunday $.80 per hours is added.
+Differential night pay, for work performed between 6pm-6am an addition $2.50 per hour added.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
- Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
- Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
- Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
- Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
