Job Summary:

The Research Coordinator will support different components of research studies within the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine under the direction of Dr. Farhan Raza. It will include, but not limited to, study protocols/consents, contact with research subjects (over the phone and in-person) logistical planning, coordinating with different members of the study team (within UW-Madison and outside collaborators), and data management in Redcap. The responsibilities include managing purchases, maintaining equipment familiarity, and database management, screening and recruiting subjects, assisting with IRB modifications, coordinating assistance across the other teams that are involved in the research, and maintaining thorough records for each participant.

Responsibilities:

Supports the development, design, and implementation of research projects according to plans, under the general direction of faculty and/or senior research personnel, following established protocols and guidelines to support and advance research in a given field under general supervision.
  • 20% Assists with conducting experiments or interviews, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results according to established protocols
  • 20% Assists in composing and organizing research reports and manuscripts to provide updates on unit objectives
  • 20% Schedules logistics and secures resources for research supplies, equipment, and facilities
  • 20% Tracks supply and equipment inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • 20% Maintains organization of research records according to established policies and procedures

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred focus in biological sciences or closely related field

Qualifications:

- Experience in coordinating research studies and troubleshooting required
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required
- Work experience in a medical setting or prior laboratory is preferred

Work Schedule:

Monday - Friday. The exact work schedule will be determined at the time of hire.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Salary:

Minimum $20.00 HOURLY
Depending on Qualifications
The expected starting pay range for this position is $20 up to $25 for highly experienced candidates. Actual pay will depend on experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
