Chemist I
Job Summary:
This position will work with a team of chemists in the laboratory of the National Atmospheric Deposition Program (NADP), as part of the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene (WSLH), to provide robust precipitation and air chemistry data that supports scientists, policymakers, and environmental monitoring programs across the nation.
The successful candidate will perform routine analysis on thousands of precipitation and passive air samples annually with minimal supervision. Laboratory responsibilities include the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of flow injection analyzers (FIA), segmented flow analyzers (SFA), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), ion chromatography (IC) systems, and pH and conductivity instrumentation.
