Employment Type:

Job Profile:
Career Development Coordinator
Job Summary:
The Career Development Coordinator is a new position that plays a central role in launching and operating the new Baumann Family SuccessWorks Gateway space in soon-to-be opened Levy Hall - a high traffic, high energy space - and will serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students and a key partner to academic departments housed in the building. This position blends student staff supervision, quick‑question career advising, collaborative programming, and site and space coordination to support the career development needs of L&S students. The core function of this role is helping direct questions to the right place: the coordinator will field student and departmental inquiries and offer warm referrals to SuccessWorks colleagues or campus services. Working closely with colleagues across SuccessWorks, the Coordinator helps maintain an engaging, well‑run student space; contributes to the creation of career content and events; and strengthens relationships with departmental advisors and campus partners to ensure students receive timely, high‑quality support.
Primary Duties:
Student Staff Coordination: In partnership with Associate Director of Career Advising & Communities, hire and train peer advisor staff, coordinate schedules, provide day-to-day supervision, and evaluate performance.
Career & Internship Advising: Advise undergraduate, graduate students, and recent alumni with quick questions on career topics related to L&S students looking to break into fields in any field of interest, and seek growth in learning about students’ varied identities and backgrounds, learning, and communication styles
Site & Space Coordination: Oversees daily operations of the SuccessWorks Gateway space in Levy Hall, ensuring it remains a welcoming, functional, and well‑maintained hub for student engagement. This includes serving as the primary liaison with the building manager and campus partners; monitoring and maintaining space readiness; tracking inventory and ordering supplies; and addressing facility needs as they arise. The coordinator ensures appropriate staffing coverage during business hours, supports student staff working in the space, and helps shape processes and protocols for a high‑traffic, front‑facing environment where students and guests may seek both career-related and general campus assistance
Partnership Development: In partnership with the Associate Director of College Partnerships, serve as a point of contact between SuccessWorks and the academic departments in Levy Hall by building relationships with departmental advisors and frontline staff. Stay informed about each department’s student needs, career questions, and existing career related programs. Represent SuccessWorks’ services and resources, share relevant insights with the Associate Director of College Partnerships, and help shape appropriate offers of support based on departmental priorities and past engagement.
This position reports to the Associate Director of Career Advising & Communities and requires on-site work, as well as occasional evening hours based on event needs.
