Job Summary:
The Data Analyst I will provide support for program activities of Dr. Anaya, MD, MPH, Associate Professor in the Dept. of Family Medicine and Community Health. Dr. Anaya's research program aims to improve health care access equity for Latino, limited English Proficiency, and immigrant populations. This research program includes projects in secondary data analysis, mixed methods, and clinical health systems interventions using implementation science.
The successful candidate for this position will assist and support Dr. Anaya in all aspects of her research. The Data Analyst I will be committed to the success of the research and to the impact of the work on health care access equity for marginalized populations. The successful applicant will be detail-oriented, have excellent written and verbal communication and organization, works collaboratively on a team, and is also effective while working independently. The candidate should possess excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Assists with the analysis and interpretation of collected data and drafts reports to develop and communicate research findings.
- 25% Analyzes data and summarizes research results for a defined research area or study by utilizing established processes
- 25% Prepares reports and manuscripts and assists with the development and presentation of materials through various communication platforms
- 25% Maintains organization of research records and responds to data requests and inquiries
- 5% Serves as an initial point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic information about result analysis and methodologies, answers questions as needed
- 10% Recruitment of research participants. Conducting surveys, interviews, and focus groups in Spanish and English, both written and oral
- 10% Assist in developing research protocols to be reviewed and approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB). Abstracts data from published sources and summarizes peer-reviewed articles.

-Written and Verbal Fluency in Spanish and English
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and using Virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.).
Preferred:
-Previous experience in statistical analysis or human participant research desirable. Experience working with data collection and data analysis software
-Previous work experience in a health care field
-Experience speaking and working alongside Latino populations

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
