Job Summary:
This 16 hours/week position provides support to educational program delivery for educators affiliated with Barron County Extension, including the 4-H Program. This position serves as first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, including website maintenance. This position will order supplies, process invoices, payment of vouchers, bills and verify all accounting records in accordance with county and state policies and procedures. Collaboration with local colleagues to promote a positive office environment and share resources is a must!
Connecting communities to Extension resources is a priority of this position.
This position will prepare various communication mediums on behalf of educators. It will also distribute communication to appropriate parties including online events and managing membership/volunteers at the direction of the educator. It will assist in organizing workshops, program materials, and events. This position will assist with the coordination of logistics (registration, communications, other details) for events and programs. It will also serve as a resource to manage and maintain 4-H enrollment information, update calendars, distribute communication to appropriate parties and manage membership/volunteers at the direction of the educator.

This position is part-time, 40%.
County Location
The main office for this position is located in Rice Lake, WI and the primary focus is Barron County; however, some work may also be conducted over a broader geographical area.
The county seat for this position is located in Barron, Wisconsin, but the Extension office is based in Rice Lake. The role requires periodic travel—typically once per week or twice per month—from Rice Lake to Barron to complete administrative tasks such as making deposits and collecting mail. Mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel between these locations.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Sends, receives, copies, and distributes communications to the appropriate entities according to established policies and procedures under general supervision
- Serves as a first point of contact for individuals and groups, provides basic organizational information via phone, in person and through other communication mediums, and routes more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities
Communicates plans, activities, and achievements to Area Extension Director, program managers, partners and relevant stakeholders
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for meetings, conferences, travel, and work unit operations
- Collects, analyzes, and prepares various communication materials from established sources utilizing technology mediums
- Maintains established methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to work operations according to established policies and procedures

Compensation:
The minimum annual starting hourly rate is $18.36 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
This is a part-time position, which means actual salary earned will be prorated based on FTE (full-time status). At 40% FTE, the person hired can expect to receive 40% of the advertised salary.
Required Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and perspectives
Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality work
Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology
Ability to work independently and productively with minimal supervision
Experience with accounting software and maintaining budget worksheets, providing invoices/billing and account reconciliation
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with or ability to learn a wide range of communication tools and technical platforms such as: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud and various web browsers
Ability to develop and design high-quality, visually appealing graphic materials
Ability and desire to learn and manage new technology platforms
Education:
High school Diploma or equivalent
