Job Summary:

The Marketing Department in the Wisconsin School of Business seeks a full-time, nine-month, tenure track appointment (Assistant) to begin August 18, 2025. The individual would be responsible to teach graduate and undergraduate students in Marketing and related fields at the Wisconsin School of Business, conducting scholarly research and performing university services.

The Marketing department is rated among the top programs in the country for research productivity. The department has strong undergraduate, MBA and PhD programs. The department includes the Marketing Leadership Institute, a nationally prominent center with extensive relations with major industry players. We are also proud to be part of a great university with excellent resources available to both faculty and students. The Wisconsin School of Business offers degrees in Marketing at the undergraduate, masters, and PhD level. The school currently enrolls approximately 2,800 undergraduates (freshmen to senior level), 400 masters, and 80 PhD students.

Responsibilities:

- Create and maintain a strong program of research
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Wisconsin School of Business
- Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate students
- Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department with university service
- Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges

Ph.D. in Marketing or related field required by start date.

Qualifications:

Well-qualified applicants will have the potential for high quality research with publications in top-tier journals and excellence in teaching. We seek candidates who produce research of excellent quality with high impact on the marketing field, specifically in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and/or New Technologies, applied to problems in Quantitative Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Strategy, or Consumer Culture Theory.

Candidates must have existing experience in an academic position and demonstrated research and teaching excellence as would be expected according to their length of employment in such a position. They will also have AI-related research under way that is likely to result in one or more publications in top-tier journals. The candidate will provide at least one (working) paper that is recognized as AI-related research in marketing.

This position is part of the Wisconsin Research, Innovation and Scholarly Excellence (RISE) Initiative. Through accelerated and strategic faculty hiring, research infrastructure enhancement, interdisciplinary collaboration, and increased student and educational opportunities, RISE addresses complex societal challenges of importance to the state, nation and world. Building on UW-Madison's strengths, RISE expands the University's successful track record of connecting with communities and industry on collaborative solutions.

Over the next three academic years, UW-Madison will substantially increase current hiring levels, bringing 150 new RISE faculty to campus. Candidates hired through RISE will join a community of scholars working across disciplines, schools and colleges on research, teaching and outreach endeavors.
