Job Summary:

The MBA & Master's Program Office is seeking a dedicated Assistant Director of Student Services to provide support to students in MBA & Master's programs, coordinate student co-curricular programs that foster teamwork, leadership, and help develop their communication skills. In addition to providing broad support for student service functions, such as advising students, creating communications, event planning, and providing support for students in a variety of ways. Your work will directly impact students' success and development. The person in this role will primarily work with the MS in Business Analytics (MSBA) & Full-Time MBA programs.

The person in this role will:

- Partner with key stakeholders in the Wisconsin School of Business to implement student facing programming that develops students' leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Create content for canvas courses designed for new incoming student cohorts.
- Assist with planning new student orientation and the Ignite Leadership Development Series for FT-MBA & Master's Students.
- Assist with planning graduate case competitions organized by the MBA and Master's Program Office and work with students who will be competing in national case competitions to support their success.
- Support experiential learning in the Full-Time MBA and MSBA programs to ensure students are successful on consulting projects.
- Travel with students to case competitions, experiential learning site visits, and professional development conferences.
- Advise and monitor degree progress for a caseload of students in our graduate programs.
- Coordinate procurement, logistics, and travel accommodations for programming and students travel to national competitions and conferences.
- Support and be on hand for office-wide events and additional programing for students.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the daily management of programs, services, activities, facilities, policies and/or processes in order to support student success in various areas of student affairs. Works under broad, administrative direction with significant responsibility for assigned area(s) of responsibility. Responds to inquiries from University departments, educational institutions, the community, and/or external agencies. Strives to create a welcoming, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
  • 30% Plans, organizes, administers, and manages processes and operations related to assigned area(s) of responsibility
  • 5% Monitors, evaluates, and modifies processes, procedures, and/or standards, ensuring alignment with the Institution's mission, values, goals, and objectives, as well as all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • 5% Advises and enforces Institution policies related to services in Student Affairs
  • 5% Serves as the program or unit liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups
  • 30% Schedules logistics and secures resources to support the operational plans of the program or unit
  • 5% May monitor the program budget and approve expenditures
  • 10% Advises and tracks degree progress for a case load of students in our graduate programs
  • 10% Organizes and manages the onboarding of incoming student cohorts to ensure they receive adequate preparation for their degree programs

Qualifications:

Required:
- Minimum one year of professional work experience

Preferred:
- Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in academic advising, student affairs, student services, career services, education or related field
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders (students, faculty, staff, university administrators, alumni, industry partners, etc)
- Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Appreciation and understanding of the unique and diverse needs of graduate students
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and to solve problems

Full Time: 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $56,500 ANNUAL (12 months)
