Job Summary:
The Administrative Manager will join the Lang Lab at the UW Carbone Cancer Center and report directly to the Lang Lab Principal Investigator, Dr. Joshua Lang, but will also work with the laboratories of Drs. Marina Sharifi and George Zhao to provide administrative support for the liquid biopsy research program. This position is intended to ensure programmatic efficiencies amongst the labs and support the labs' goals and missions. The candidate will demonstrate a history of successful project management and administration, ability to plan and meet strict deadlines, flexibility, and personal accountability. He/she will be responsible for overseeing administrative activities including the labs' operational and organizational infrastructure for the successful implementation and fiscal management for multidisciplinary activities. He/she will centrally provide administrative support services to ensure biomarker research and activities are focused, connected, and endpoints are efficiently and effectively reached.
Responsibilities:
Manages a program and/or programmatic activities. Initiates, develops, and implements operational services that support a defined project, program, work unit, or function to advance program goals and objectives. May supervise staff and/or approve unit expenditures.
- 20% Plans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancement
- 20% Identifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures
- 10% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
- 10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications
- 15% Leads the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agencies
- 15% May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expenditures
- 10% Contributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors

- Work involves exposure to human blood products, animal blood products and tissue Hepatitis B vaccination is strongly encouraged at the time of hire.
