Job Summary:
These 3rd shift Custodian positions are team members of the Wisconsin Union -Facilities Custodian Team. Duties include routine maintenance and cleaning, trash removal, snow removal, upkeep of the Memorial Union Terrace and other duties as needed. Work is both indoors and outdoors. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodial Services Supervisor.
Positions work at UW Madison- Memorial Union. (800 Langdon Street, Madison) and Union South (1308 West Dayton Street, Madison)
-Schedule is:
40 hours per week
Open positions schedule based on need: 10pm to 6:30am with rotating days off or 10:30pm-7am with rotating days off (Hours based on which building position is at)
Position is are to temporarily fill an open position.. These position are filling open position for up to 6 months or less until the position is filled.
**Days and times may change based on department needs.
**Applicants may be used for other temporary Custodian positions that may open.
Wage is $17.00 per hour
*Differential Weekend pay for work performed on Saturday and Sunday $.80 per hours is added.
*Differential night pay, for work performed between 6pm-6am an addition $2.50 per hour added.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Documents and reports repairs, violations, and pest control needs
- Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory, and requests additional supplies as needed
- Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances and reports issues to appropriate entities
- Maintains clean and clear walkways to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow, and ice
- Utilizes basic equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables
