Job Summary:

Tasks:
- Supervise and manage ~10 Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) Shift Leaders and 35-100 CATI Interviewers (depending on production needs) in the CATI lab.
- Build schedules for staff, give performance and attendance feedback, and coordinate raise reviews.
- Apply production to projects appropriate for project goals.
- Ensure that day-to-day as well as long-term project goals are met.
- Train/provide on-going training of interviewers to conduct high quality social science research.
- Screen, interview and make hiring decisions for groups of up to 20 CATI trainees.
- Review data collected from studies and work with clients and project directors to ensure that data meets the highest social science standards as well as the needs and expectations of clients.
- Track study progress while in the field.
- Monitor response rates, gather pretest information from senior interviewers, and in consultation with project directors and clients, develop methods to improve refusal avoidance techniques.
- Serve as research assistant to project directors, e.g., code social science data, debug programmed instruments, etc.
- Supervise our CATI quality control and monitoring processes to ensure we are meeting the highest social science standards in survey research as well as the needs and expectations of our clients.
- Accomplish a variety of administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision.
  • 20% Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
  • 5% Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
  • 5% Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
  • 5% Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials
  • 40% Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff and/or student workers
  • 5% Performs literature reviews and writes reports
  • 20% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE employees.

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

- One year of experience training and supervising survey research staff desired; 3-4 years of experience preferred.
- Experience desired in any of the following areas: supervision of staff, data quality control, group and individual training, telephone interviewing or other types of telephone work, project progress monitoring, and client interaction.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $47,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
Depending on Qualifications
The typical starting salary for this position is $47,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The full salary range for this position $44,543- $82,851. Employees in this position can expect to receive benefits such as generous vacation, holidays and paid time off; competitive insurances and saving accounts; and retirement benefits.

Additional Information:

University sponsorship is not available for this position, including transfers of sponsorship.
