Job Duties:
Join the Mowat Laboratory and help us research the natural aging of the brain and senses. We study companion (pet) dogs using behavioral and nonbehavioral methods. This role offers training and certification in animal care, use, and human subjects’ research. Motivated individuals will find many opportunities for career advancement and intellectual involvement in the research. Tasks involved in the position include (but are not limited to):
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results
Assist and complete clinical visits with client-owned dogs, including but not limited to behavioral tests, clinical examination, blood draw, ophthalmic imaging, electrophysiologic testing

School of Veterinary Medicine, Mowat Lab
Compensation:
The starting salary for the position is $44,300 (but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Previous research experience is helpful but not essential.
Familiarity with digital data entry (Excel, REDCap) is preferred.
A long-term interest in working in a research environment is a plus.
Certified Veterinary Technicians are welcome to apply as the work involves client owned pets.
