University Health Services (UHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse to fill a dynamic float role across both Community Health and Primary Care Clinics. This position offers a dynamic mix of responsibilities: delivering public health services, allergy injections, travel consultations and campus outreach, to providing direct clinical care through triage and patient support. Key Responsibilities:
- Administer immunizations and travel vaccines per CDC/UHS protocols
- Conduct and interpret TB screenings
- Administer allergy injections and manage reactions
- Provide patient education and support outreach programs across campus
- Provide Travel based recommendations and guidelines
- Phone Triage
- Direct patient care and assessment
- Patient education
- Communicable Disease response support
Schedule:
This position is full time, working Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:00PM with some Wednesdays starting at 8:00AM.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders
- Educates patients and their support systems on how to manage conditions and to promote the health and well-being of patients and those around them
- May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students
- Provides care to individuals within a specialized area of medicine to ensure physical and mental well-being
- Participates in medical research as needed in collaboration with medical professionals and internal and external stakeholders
- Evaluates current care plans, completes assessments, develops specialized treatment plans, documents medical activity, and analyzes patient data and results to help diagnosis and treat illnesses and diseases

UHS Medical Services provides high quality medical services to UW-Madison students with specialties in primary care, gynecology, sexual health, travel medicine, allergy and immunization, and physical therapy. Our clinicians also provide a wide range of preventative care in support of the UHS overarching mission of promoting students' academic and personal success through an integrated model of medical, mental health, and prevention activities and services.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this position is $72,800 annually, equivalent to $35 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
- Experience managing patient evaluations and care plans with an interdisciplinary team
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills are essential, as this role involves close coordination with multidisciplinary teams across UHS and other UW-Madison programs
- Ability to adapt to varied clinical environments, including Primary Care, Community Health and campus outreach settings
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin
- Current BLS CPR certification or able to obtain prior to start date
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing patient evaluations and care plans independently using standard nurse protocols
- Experience in ambulatory or public health
- Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience
Education:
Associate degree in nursing required, Bachelor's degree in nursing, preferred
