Job Summary:

This is a part-time position providing licensed RN coverage for protocol-required dosing visits for the CoPEWell study, an FDA-regulated psilocybin clinical trial conducted at the Wisconsin Sleep Center. Responsibilities include IV placement and maintenance, continuous vital sign monitoring, clinical assessment, and immediate response to adverse reactions to ensure participant safety and regulatory compliance. Sessions occur overnight on weekdays or weekends and require approximately 12 to 14 hours of coverage per session. This role may also provide flexible clinical support across Dr. Raison's broader research portfolio as needed, including biospecimen collection and other medical monitoring procedures.

Additional Information:

  • Terminal, 12-month appointment.

  • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

  • The work schedule is flexible and will be determined at the time of hire.

  • This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding.

  • This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Administers all data and research requests made by physician staff
  • Uses data to prepare, produce, and report to the department chair or supervisor
  • Evaluates current practices, identifies alternative options, and consults with other patient care staff to enhance patient care
  • Collects and manages all patient data as directed
  • May provide expertise, training, and guidance to the community, peers, and/or students

Compensation:

The starting hourly wage for the position is $50 per hour; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license; required by start date of employment.

  • Proficiency in venous access and IV placement, including IV management and patient monitoring.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience or demonstrated familiarity with clinical research procedures and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and professional approach to working with patients in clinical settings.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining accurate records and documentation.

Education:

  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
