Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager serves as a key resource and point of contact for the School of Education leaders and employees. This position functions under the general supervision and direction of the Director for Human Resources. As a member of the Divisional Human Resources Team in the School of Education, this position will be responsible for supporting the School of Education departments/units with their workforce needs. This position will execute a wide range of HR functions including performance management, workforce/employee relations, data reporting, analysis and metrics, faculty and leadership recruitment and search processes, hiring and onboarding, compensation analysis, and training and development.
Additionally, this position will have an emphasis on leadership coaching and support related to in depth compensation/data analysis and reporting, and faculty processes and initiatives, performance and misconduct, conflict resolution/mediation, leadership onboarding, accommodations and leaves of absence. The School of Education is committed to training and professional development to ensure employees are successful in their position. The person in this position must have a collaborative, service-oriented approach to facilitate and foster effective professional working relationships across the school and university. They will need to understand and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information with tact and discretion. The incumbent must be able to balance working autonomously and as a part of a team to contribute to the effective and efficient day-to-day service and to the greater School of Education goals and mission.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies, designs, implements, and monitors Human Resources and staff training programs consistent with strategic objectives and initiatives
- Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies
- Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes
- Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
- Serves as subject matter expert to support unit managers' alignment of business needs and human resources strategy

Compensation:
Minimum $80,000 annually.
Commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field; Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in compensation and HR operations including supporting faculty-related processes will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Proven ability to navigate complex HR challenges, with experience in workforce relations, including conflict resolution and fostering positive work environments.
Extensive knowledge in recruitment and talent acquisition, including developing strategies to attract top talent, conducting interviews, and ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
Strong background in performance management, including coaching, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement to enhance employee productivity and engagement.
Proficiency in HR technology, including HRIS systems, data analysis tools, and digital platforms for effective operations.
Experience leading HR projects and organizational change initiatives, with responsibility for developing and delivering training.
Strong understanding of and experience with HR principles, practices, and employment laws such as FLSA, ADA, and FMLA.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated success and commitment to customer service and excellence.
Experience utilizing a Human Resources Information System (e.g. Workday, Peoplesoft).
Experience using data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau (or similar platforms) to create dashboards, analyze trends, and present actionable HR insights.
SHRM – CP or PHR certification
Previous supervisory or management experience
Previous HR experience in higher education
