Job Summary:
The Office of Interdisciplinary Professional Programs (InterPro) is searching for an individual who enjoys working with numbers and providing high level customer service. This position will join our Accounting and Financial services support team providing a variety of operational and financial functions to support daily operations of our credit programs, professional development courses, and member based consortia. General duties will include: prepare, advise and reconcile financial transactions; generate financial reports; and provide customer service to an assigned program area.

Responsibilities:
Primarily reviews, approves, and advises on a variety of advanced financial transactions. May prepare some financial transactions and reconciles transactions. Recommends controls and process improvements, troubleshoots advanced financial errors. Maintains financial records, provides administrative processing support, and provides customer service for staff and customers in an assigned program area to support program financial management.
- 10% Audits, monitors, organizes, and updates fiscal records, reports, and affiliated materials
- 5% Creates general reporting for transactions
- 35% Audits or processes advanced transactions and assigns funding codes in accordance with established rules, regulations, and policies
- 25% Audits or reconciles original purchase documents with payments
- 5% Reallocates expenses to appropriate funding strings
- 5% Drafts communications and advanced reports and maintains organization of varied records to provide administrative support within a specified work unit
- 10% Answers advanced fiscal questions and provides information based on set materials and standards to various audiences
- 5% Reviews transaction processing internal controls and recommends policies and procedures

Required:
-Minimum two years experience handling financial transactions and supporting processes and policies
-Minimum two years experience providing customer service to a varied audience
-Prior experience learning new technology for processing financial transactions
Preferred:
-Prior experience using UW Madison, UW System or State financial systems
-Experience training individuals on best practices and/or how to use a transactional system

M-F, 40 hrs per week
