Job Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking an epileptologist interested in pursuing an academic career and joining our epilepsy division. If appointed on the CHS track, duties will also include teaching and/or research.

The successful candidate will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Additionally, the successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank. Candidates at the rank of associate professor or professor will hold a leadership role in the department.

Responsibilities:

80%-90% Clinical, 10%-20% Academics

Depending on track hired, clinical responsibilities generally include outpatient epilepsy clinics and may include general neurology clinics depending on department needs. When not outpatient attending, candidate will participate in IONM, and epilepsy / EEG attending service at UW Health Hospitals and Clinics, VA Hospital and other affiliated locations.

Depending on track hired, the candidate may participate in extramurally funded clinical research. The candidate will participate in mentoring, clinical and didactic teaching and other educational programs for undergraduates, graduate students, residents, fellows, or other attending physicians, and the public.

Qualifications:

Candidates for associate professor (CHS) or professor (CHS) rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

Candidates for clinical associate professor or clinical professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinician Teacher track.

License/Certification:

Required
MD - Physician - State Licensure
Must have completed neurology residency, fellowship trained in epilepsy, EEG or clinical neurophysiology or equivalent experience. Must have a WI medical license by the time of appointment. Must be ABPN or AOBNP board eligible or certified in Neurology.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.
