Job Summary:
The Living Donor Database Coordinator will help propel the field of living kidney donation forward by helping set up a comprehensive database on living kidney donors. This will include helping determine needs for the database and coordinate communication between Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Manager of the Living Kidney Donor Program and the physician leaders. The Database Coordinator will help create smartphrases and data fields that need to be added to the database. Once the database is set up, the Coordinator will obtain basic health information on former donors and enter that into the database.
Responsibilities:
Coordinates clinical research studies, performing a variety of tasks and activities. Recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility, and enrolls study participants and ensures subjects follow the research protocol. Develops study-related documents. Applies expertise, knowledge, and skills to a broad range of different types of clinical studies, navigates resources, and identifies issues needing escalation. Contributes to development of new team and unit processes, procedures, staff, and tools.
- 20% Schedules logistics, determines workflows, and secures resources for clinical research trials
- 20% Manages research workflow components, collects, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities, adhering to research protocols
- 20% Serves as a main point of contact for clinical research participants, providing information regarding research procedures, expectations, and informational inquiries. Ensures participants follow the research protocol and alerts Principal Investigator of issues
- 20% Identifies resource needs and develops clinical research documents, such as job aids, tools, processes, procedures, and training. Contributes to the development of protocols
- 5% Help set up the Living Donor Database. This will include helping determine needs and coordinate communication between Clinical Informatics, the Living Kidney Donor Program Clinic Manager and Medical Director of the Living Donor Program
- 10% Obtain basic health information on former donors and enter that into EPIC
- 5% Help manage any IRB and regulatory issues related to the database, in coordination with the Transplant Surgery staff which already has experience with UW Transplant database.

Preferably a degree in biological sciences, health care or related field
Qualifications:

- Experience with data collection, data management, data verification, REDCap, OnCore or similar clinical research databases
- Experience in a clinical setting, including working with patients, electronic medical records (e.g., Epic) or compiling health information
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar suite
Preferred
- At least 1 year experience in human subjects research
- Experience with project management, including a track record of project organization and documentation, and laboratory management

The annual starting salary for the position is $54,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Additional Information:
This position requires excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Strong problem solving and organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and prioritize based on deadlines are necessary to be successful in this role. The incumbent will be able to learn new tasks quickly and work both independently and as part of a team.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
