Job Summary:

The University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy, Social and Administrative Sciences (SAS) Division invites applications for one 12-month position at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor, or Associate or Full Professor with tenure. The faculty member will join a division whose mission is to promote high-quality, safe, and effective medication use through interdisciplinary research and education.

Responsibilities:

The faculty member will have responsibility for teaching Pharm.D. students in the professional program on topics related to the provision and payment of health services, health communication, pharmacy management, medication safety, and/or quality improvement, pharmacy law, and ethics, and the opportunity to contribute to specialty elective pharmacy courses.

The faculty member also will have responsibility for teaching and mentoring students in the Health Services Research in Pharmacy (HSRP) graduate program, and participating in service to the school, university, and profession.

Education:

Terminal Degree
Ph.D. (or equivalent) in economics, public policy, or health services research or related field

Qualifications:

Candidates at the associate or full professor level are required to have demonstrated sustained extramural grant support, as well as research, scholarship, and teaching proficiency that meet the criteria for tenure and rank at University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW School of Pharmacy.

Candidates at the assistant professor level are expected to demonstrate potential for establishing an independent and externally funded research program.

Especially desirable are candidates whose research focuses on the following topics:
- Population Health and Policy (preferred)
- Pharmacoepidemiology/Pharmacoeconomics (preferred)
- Medication Use, Safety, and Quality in Health Systems
- Healthy Aging
- Artificial Intelligence & Data Science
- Reducing Health Disparities in Underrepresented Communities
- Patient-centered Care

A background in pharmacy practice is desirable but not required. Other desirable attributes include: demonstrated mentoring of underrepresented scholars, mixed-methods experience and skills, research partnering with the public and private sectors involved with advancing pharmacy practice and demonstrating the value of pharmacy and pharmacists, effective oral and written communication skills, a history of successful internal and external grant submissions or grant writing experience, and the ability to effectively interact with other academic departments or schools with whom we have active collaborations, such as Medicine, Nursing, Population Health, Industrial & Systems Engineering, and Communications.
