Job Summary:

Department of Psychiatry is seeking outstanding applicants for clinical track addiction psychiatry faculty positions with clinician-educator or clinician-scholar interests. The successful candidates' clinical focus will be aligned with one or more areas of clinical expertise in the department, including, but not limited to board specialization in general adult and addiction psychiatry, as well as addiction medicine.

In addition, the successful candidates' clinical setting can include inpatient and outpatient, including intensive outpatient programs. The successful candidates will also be expected to teach, which may include lecturing and mentoring in our various educational programs, will embrace culture of excellence and innovation, and have interest in clinical scholarship within the Department.

Responsibilities:

Provide psychiatric care for a variety of addiction psychiatry and medicine patients (90%):
-Provide care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
-Service on appropriate department and medical school committees.
-Participate in other department teaching activities.
-Share in call schedules.

Provide supervision, mentorship and teaching (10%):
-Supervise, mentor, and teach psychiatric fellows, residents, psychology interns and medical students.

The successful candidate will teach medical students, residents, and fellows.

Required
Terminal Degree
MD or DO Required.

Qualifications:

Successful completion of residency in Psychiatry.
Successful completion of a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry.

-Board Eligible/Board Certified Preferred.
-Wisconsin Medical License obtained by start date.
-DEA certifications obtained by start date.
-Credentialed with UW Health managed care plans, credentialing and staff privileges at UW Hospital, UnityPoint Health Meriter Hospital, and VA Middleton must be completed by start date.

-For appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

This position has been identified as a position that will be located in or regularly access UW Health locations. This position will need to adhere to UW Health policies and affiliated requirements.
