Job Summary:

This appointment will be in the 2026-2027 Abdominal Imaging and Intervention Fellowship Program receiving advanced training in Abdominal Imaging and Intervention.

This position will always function as a trainee when performing tumor ablation procedures (microwave ablation and cryoablation in both an intraoperative and percutaneous setting), selective salpingography and intraoperative/laparoscopic ultrasound.

There is the possibility that this position could be extended for one additional year.

Responsibilities:

As part of your training, you will perform general radiology clinical activities for which you can function independently, including general radiology duties such as plain radiography, fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, ultrasound and overall radiology services. The individual will often supervise and teach residents and medical students.

An additional component of this appointment outside of your fellowship could include providing independent clinical services for the Department of Radiology as necessary and as assigned by the Department Chair. Work may be carried out at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Unitypoint Health-Meriter Hospital and/or other radiology outpatient or outreach sites and extended coverage areas as necessary. On-call radiology services are also considered non-training activities for which you can work independently.

MD, DO, or equivalent

- 4 Year Residency in Radiology

License/Certification:

Required
MD - Physician - State Licensure
WI Medical License by start date.
Board Eligible or Board Certified by American Board of Radiology by start date.

Work Type:

Full or Part Time: 50% - 100%

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Appointment Type, Duration:

Terminal, 12 month appointment.
This position has the possibility to be extended or converted to an ongoing appointment based on need and/or funding

Additional Information:

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
